The Georgetown Community School, Georgetown, Colorado, Board of Directors, is seeking a highly qualified Director.  The Board wishes to have the successful candidate assume the responsibilities of the position July 1, 2022.

McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C., Executive Recruitment and Development, in association with the Colorado Association of School Boards, has been engaged as the consultant in a search for outstanding candidates. They will assist the Board of Directors in identifying and screening the candidates.

Enrollment: 89 students
Location: 50 miles west of Denver

The Qualifications
The candidate must have the background, skills, and abilities essential for excellence in educational leadership. The Board recognizes that selecting a Director is one of the most important decisions it will make. The Board developed the following desired characteristics.

  • Leader - A strong collaborator who develops leaders, implements a love of learning and recognizes the potential of each student by supporting each child socially, emotionally, and intellectually.
  • Communicator - A strong communicator who can build trust and transparency in both the school and greater community. A leader who establishes a culture that values community and character.
  • Visible - An individual who would become involved in the community and be known by the classroom teachers, parents and the greater community. A leader who builds trust, showing compassion, and empowering change.
  • Accountable - An individual who has financial competence. A leader who is committed to understanding the financial health of the school. A leader who gets results.

Salary Range:  $75,000 to $100,000

27J Schools: High School Principal, Riverdale High School

Riverdale Ridge High School, a 27J School in Thornton, CO, is seeking a high school principal to provide dynamic leadership for a comprehensive high school campus.  

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree minimum; other advanced graduate work preferred.
  • Colorado Principal License or Administrator License.
  • At least three years of administrative experience as a secondary school principal or assistant principal required.
  • At least three years' teaching experience at the high school level required.
  • Experience and knowledge of curriculum for secondary schools, with a knowledge of state standards required.
  • Experience and knowledge of CTE programming is required.
  • Experience with school construction or remodel is helpful. 

Required Qualifications:

  1. A valid Colorado Department of Education Principal License.
  2. The ability to handle many complex tasks simultaneously.
  3. The ability to facilite and coach a high-functioning team. 
  4. The ability to define roles and share responsibility to move the school vision forward.
