Location: Windsor is a central location and three-mile proximity to I-25, and 60 miles north of Denver, Colorado

The Qualifications

The candidate must have the background, skills, and abilities essential for excellence in educational leadership. The board recognizes that selecting a superintendent is one of the most important decisions it will make. The board has identified the following desired characteristics:

  • Possesses excellent Leadership skills
  • Excellent communications skills with community and staff
  • A leader who understands growth and the complexities it brings to a community
  • Knowledgeable of Bond and Mill levies 
  • Someone who is very transparent in their leadership
  • A person who would be highly recommended by their staff
  • A leader who has a vision or who can develop one with a clear mission that can move the district forward 
  • Highly skilled in working with staff and who can build strong positive relationships
  • Committed to the success of the school district
  • Has proven performance to be an effective leader, a leader who is strong being a conservative fiscal manager and understands budgeting and allocation of resources. 
  • An instructional leader
  • Someone who is familiar with the area and who is also open to learning about the area
  • A leader who can build trust and rapport with the community and with the staff
  •  Experience as a superintendent is preferred
  • Out of box thinker who is innovative and creative
  • Someone who will bring new ideas to the district to move forward
  • An educator who is a student-centered and is an instructional leader, understands and values teaching/learning, a consensus builder capable of creating an environment which promotes success for all students, staff, and the community.  
  • Knowledgeable and understand the importance of CTE 
  • A Leader who empowers people to be their best
  • A leader who can manage conflict
  • Collaborative decision maker who involves people in the decision making , but when necessary make a decision
  • Will hold people accountable and will hold themselves accountable 

Salary: $195,000- $225,000 based upon experience, with a negotiated benefit package

  • Leader:  A leader who is flexible and has a sense of humor.  A leader with a proven track record with classroom experience.  A person who can build consensus and take the “Heat”.  A leader with a strong work ethic and willing to do the work of others.  A leader willing to stay for the long term.
  • Communicator: A leader with strong communication skills who listens to both the school and greater community.  A leader who is visible in the schools and greater community.   A person who speaks and writes with clarity.  A person who is comfortable with technology and understands the impact of social media on the system. 
  • Manager:  A person with site leadership (preferred).  A leader with successful experience in school finance.  A person who knows how to manage a system focused on improvement.  

Salary Range:  $85,000  -  $120,000

  • Strong communications skills and is able to communicate with community, parents, staff and students
  • A person of integrity and high moral character, approachable, friendly, and welcoming to students, staff, and the community, highly visible, follows the chain of command, and is aggressive in marketing the district in the region.
  • Someone who wants to live in the district
  • An educator who is a student-centered and is an instructional leader, understands and values teaching/learning, a consensus builder capable of creating an environment which promotes success for all students, staff, and the community.  
  • Willing to be involved at the state and national level
  • Who has the ability to capitalize on the qualities of excellence of the district and possesses the leadership skills needed to move the district forward through creating partnerships and accountability.
  • Willingness to learn and admit when they don’t know something
  • Not fearful to have a CDL license and  drive a bus route when needed
  • Developed leadership skills through different challenges they have encountered

Salary: $150,000- $175,000 based upon experience; family health including vision and dental; plus, other benefits
